It is the visceral aspect of Jozsef's drawings that is most obvious, but these are not straight anatomical studies. Taken from the artist's memories and imagination, they bring to mind works by Blake and Dali, containing half-hidden or suggested figures and gestures that lend the drawings a very human and emotional quality.

These drawings represent a departure from my previous works. Built on what I regard as "emotional elements", the different vortices represent the fluctuating changes involved in birth and death. Although they include some recognisably anatomical details, they are not drawn from direct observation but are constructed from an internal stock of forms.
