I am interested in the things painters have always been interested in - colour, space, form, atmosphere, movement, gesture, drawing and abstraction.
Most of my work is based on landscape or place, particularly the places I know well (the Chilterns, Falmouth, lower Wharfedale, and the buildings I have lived and worked in); but also places more vaguely remembered (houses and gardens from childhood).
I have recently been painting small still lives from observation, and some of these are here. There are also two transcriptions - of El Greco's Cleansing of the Temple, and one of the panels from Mantegna's Triumph of Caesar.
